Are you an experienced Year 6 Teacher looking for a rewarding Full-Time Year 6 Teacher role beginning January 2026? A successful and welcoming Manchester primary is seeking a dedicated Year 6 Teacher to lead their upper-key-stage cohort from January 2026. This Year 6 Teacher vacancy is Full-Time and offers the opportunity to prepare pupils for secondary transition through inspiring, rigorous teaching from January 2026.

The role: Year 6 Teacher

  • The Year 6 Teacher will plan a curriculum that develops critical thinking, problem solving and written expression.
  • As the Year 6 Teacher, you will guide pupils through assessment cycles, SATs preparation where relevant, and broader enrichment that builds confidence.
  • The Year 6 Teacher will start pre-term planning in late December and will be fully teaching from January 2026 as a Full-Time member of staff.

Key responsibilities for the Year 6 Teacher:

  • The Year 6 Teacher will design and deliver challenging lessons that secure progress and prepare pupils for secondary education.
  • The Year 6 Teacher will monitor progress, use assessment to intervene and communicate with parents.
  • The Year 6 Teacher will lead transition activities, coordinate moderation and support enrichment programmes.
  • The Year 6 Teacher will contribute to whole-school improvement and mentor junior colleagues when appropriate.

Start & contract information:

This is a Full-Time Year 6 Teacher post starting January 2026. The Full-Time Year 6 Teacher will receive induction in January 2026 and mentoring during the spring term. The Full-Time Year 6 Teacher role is permanent and provides a clear route for professional development in the Manchester school.
