We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Key Stage 1 practitioner to support pupils at a crucial stage in their education as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into more structured learning.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class and deliver high-quality teaching across the National Curriculum. You will plan engaging, well-structured lessons that support early literacy, phonics, writing, and numeracy, while continuing to nurture pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development. Creating a classroom environment that is calm, supportive, and stimulating will be central to your role.

You will use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify next steps, and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners. Differentiation will be key, particularly for pupils with SEND, EAL, or those requiring additional support. Working closely with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues, you will ensure pupils receive consistent and high-quality learning experiences. Strong communication with parents and carers is highly valued. You will be supported in building positive relationships with families, keeping them informed of progress and celebrating pupils’ achievements. Collaboration with colleagues and senior leaders will also form an important part of the role, contributing to curriculum development and whole-school initiatives.

This position is suitable for Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners. ECTs will benefit from a structured induction programme and mentoring, while experienced teachers will have opportunities to share expertise and take on additional responsibilities.
