A busy primary school in Manchester needs a skilled Site Officer to ensure day-to-day site operations run smoothly and safely. The Site Officer will take responsibility for opening and locking procedures, daily site checks, basic maintenance tasks and supporting health & safety compliance. This Site Officer will monitor alarms and security systems, support lettings arrangements and liaise with contractors to ensure that the school premises are maintained to a high standard. The role begins January 2026, and the successful Site Officer will receive induction and handover before January 2026 so they are ready for the spring term.
As Site Officer you will carry out routine maintenance and checks, respond to site issues, support cleaning standards and manage site supplies. The Site Officer will also help set up rooms for events and ensure that external users meet the school’s conditions for lettings. Working in Manchester, the Site Officer will be part of a supportive team and will be expected to work flexibly to meet the school’s operational needs.
Key responsibilities:- Conduct daily site inspections, open/close the building and monitor security systems.
- Undertake minor repairs, perform basic maintenance and report larger works to the Site Manager.
- Support lettings and events, prepare rooms and ensure areas are left clean and safe.
- Maintain site logs, complete routine COSHH/H&S checks and assist with risk assessments.
- Manage and order premises stock, liaising with suppliers and contractors as needed.
- Practical experience in site or premises roles and ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks.
- Awareness of health & safety procedures and willingness to follow site compliance routines.
- Reliable, flexible and able to work across Manchester with availability to start January 2026.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a site team supporting the school community.
