ASAP Start | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:00am–4:30pm | Temporary

A secondary school in Manchester is looking for an experienced School Administrator to join its busy administration team. This is a varied role suited to someone who already understands how a school office operates and can pick up systems and processes quickly. You will provide day-to-day administrative support, maintain accurate records and help ensure the office runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to staff and senior leaders.
  • Maintain accurate pupil and school records.
  • Update information on the school's MIS and other databases.
  • Prepare correspondence, letters, reports and documentation.
  • Manage filing and electronic record systems.
  • Assist with meetings, appointments and school events.
  • Support wider office requirements as needed.

Parents, Pupils & Visitors

  • Deal with telephone and email enquiries.
  • Provide a professional first point of contact for parents and visitors.
  • Support reception when required.
  • Liaise with staff and external professionals.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Data & Records

  • Input and check information accurately.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, trackers and administrative records.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting.
  • Identify and correct inaccuracies where required.
  • Ensure records are maintained in line with school procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

The successful candidate must have:

  • Proven experience in school administration.
  • Experience using a school MIS/database.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Professional communication skills when dealing with parents, pupils and staff.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection within a school environment.
  • Experience of Arbor, attendance administration or admissions would be advantageous.
