A secondary school in Manchester is looking for an experienced School Administrator to join its busy administration team. This is a varied role suited to someone who already understands how a school office operates and can pick up systems and processes quickly. You will provide day-to-day administrative support, maintain accurate records and help ensure the office runs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to staff and senior leaders.
- Maintain accurate pupil and school records.
- Update information on the school's MIS and other databases.
- Prepare correspondence, letters, reports and documentation.
- Manage filing and electronic record systems.
- Assist with meetings, appointments and school events.
- Support wider office requirements as needed.
Parents, Pupils & Visitors
- Deal with telephone and email enquiries.
- Provide a professional first point of contact for parents and visitors.
- Support reception when required.
- Liaise with staff and external professionals.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Data & Records
- Input and check information accurately.
- Maintain spreadsheets, trackers and administrative records.
- Assist with data collection and reporting.
- Identify and correct inaccuracies where required.
- Ensure records are maintained in line with school procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate must have:
- Proven experience in school administration.
- Experience using a school MIS/database.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Professional communication skills when dealing with parents, pupils and staff.
- Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection within a school environment.
- Experience of Arbor, attendance administration or admissions would be advantageous.
