The Department & Academic Standard

You will join an elite Mathematics faculty where the pursuit of 'mathematical fluency' is at the heart of the curriculum. The department utilises a mastery-based approach, ensuring deep conceptual understanding before moving on to more complex abstract theories. As an 'Outstanding' setting, we prioritise research-informed pedagogy, using cognitive load theory and retrieval practice to ensure long-term retention of mathematical principles. Core Responsibilities

• Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with opportunities for A-Level Mathematics and Further Maths for suitably qualified candidates.
• Conceptual Mastery: Teaching the 'why' behind the 'how,' guiding students through the intricacies of calculus, trigonometry, and statistical analysis with clarity and precision.
• Problem-Solving Leadership: Cultivating a classroom environment where students are encouraged to tackle non-routine problems and develop resilient logical reasoning.
• Data-Driven Progress: Utilising the academy’s sophisticated tracking systems to identify misconceptions early and provide the exact intervention needed to ensure every student exceeds their targets.
• STEM Integration: Collaborating with the Science and Engineering departments to demonstrate the vital role of mathematics in innovation and technological progress.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for a subject authority who is passionate about making complex patterns accessible and exciting. Requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline (e.g., Physics, Engineering).
• Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering exceptional learning outcomes and a deep understanding of the current GCSE and A-Level assessment frameworks.
