A highly regarded secondary school in Didsbury is looking to appoint a dedicated Facilities Officer to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis with an ASAP start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-resourced school where you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Role
- Working alongside the Site Manager and wider premises team, you'll help ensure the school buildings and grounds are maintained efficiently and remain fully compliant with all statutory requirements.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening and securing the school site when required
- Carrying out planned maintenance, minor repairs, and general DIY tasks
- Responding to day-to-day maintenance requests across the school
- Assisting with Health & Safety inspections and statutory compliance checks
- Supporting fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and premises compliance procedures
- Supervising contractors while they work on site
- Setting up classrooms, sports halls, and meeting spaces for school activities and events
- Maintaining the appearance of the buildings, grounds, and external areas
- Supporting planned refurbishment and site improvement projects

The Successful Candidate
Applications are welcomed from experienced Facilities Officers, Premises Assistants, Caretakers, Estates Assistants, Maintenance Operatives, or candidates with relevant experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or building services. The successful candidate will be practical, dependable, and proactive, with good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. Experience working within a school, college, healthcare, or commercial facilities environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
