A well-established secondary school in Sale is seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Officer to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis with an ASAP start. The Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll support the day-to-day management of the school site and help deliver an efficient facilities service across the campus. Key responsibilities include:

  • Opening and closing the school buildings when required
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and basic decorating
  • Responding to maintenance requests from staff across the school
  • Assisting with planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • Completing regular Health & Safety inspections and compliance checks
  • Supporting fire safety, legionella, asbestos, and security procedures
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring works are completed safely
  • Setting up classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for examinations, events, and school activities
  • Maintaining the presentation of the school buildings and grounds throughout the year

The Successful Candidate

Applications are welcomed from experienced Facilities Officers, Premises Assistants, Caretakers, Estates Assistants, Maintenance Technicians, or candidates with transferable experience in facilities, property maintenance, or building services. You'll be practical, organised, and dependable, with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience within a school environment is beneficial but not essential.
