Our client is seeking a proactive, organised, and hands-on Premises Manager to join a thriving primary school in Maidstone. This is a key operational role, with responsibility for ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, compliant, well-maintained, and presented to the highest possible standard for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day maintenance and smooth running of the school site, ensuring all health and safety requirements are met. You will be responsible for coordinating contractors, managing planned and reactive maintenance, supporting site security, and ensuring the school environment remains safe, clean, and fit for purpose.
You may also be required to oversee site staff, where applicable, and will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to support the effective day-to-day operation of the school. This position would suit an experienced Premises Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager, or Estates professional who is confident taking ownership of a school site, managing competing priorities, and maintaining consistently high operational standards. Previous experience working within a primary school or education setting would be advantageous.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a Premises Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager, or Estates professional, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, compliance, and site management procedures
- Experience coordinating contractors, maintenance teams, and external service providers
- Knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance and general building management
- Experience overseeing site security and ensuring the premises are safe and secure
- Practical, proactive, and highly organised approach to managing day-to-day operations
- Confident working independently and prioritising multiple tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with school leadership, staff, contractors, pupils, and visitors
