Role Overview

A supportive and high-achieving primary school in Maidenhead is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its dynamic learning support team. This full-time, term-time-only position focuses on delivering high-quality academic and pastoral support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The role is well-suited for an experienced support assistant or a ambitious graduate looking to gain structured experience within a primary environment. Working alongside skilled class teachers, you will support general classroom delivery, guide small group interventions, and assist children with varied learning needs.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Classroom Delivery: Work collaboratively with class teachers to prepare learning materials, maintain an engaging environment, and support overall pupil engagement.

  • Intervention Groups: Lead structured small group sessions in phonics, guided reading, and numeracy to boost pupil confidence and attainment.

  • 1:1 Learning Support: Provide tailored assistance to pupils requiring additional scaffolding or those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Pastoral Care: Encourage positive behaviour, support children’s social-emotional development, and champion an inclusive learning culture.

  • Qualifications & Skills: Strong GCSE results in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above), strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and a clear Enhanced DBS check.
