Our Client is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join a successful school in Luton on an ASAP basis. This position would suit a teacher who is passionate about Sociology and enjoys encouraging students to question, analyse and evaluate the social world around them.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering well-planned Sociology lessons that develop students' understanding of key sociological concepts, theories, perspectives and research. You will be expected to create lessons that promote discussion and critical thinking while ensuring that students are appropriately prepared for examinations.
Strong assessment and feedback skills will be important, as the successful teacher will need to monitor progress, identify gaps in understanding and provide targeted support where necessary. The ability to help students develop strong essay-writing, evaluation and application skills will also be highly valued.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualified Sociology Teacher with strong subject knowledge.

Ability to teach Sociology across the relevant secondary and/or Post-16 age range.

Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE.

Experience delivering engaging lessons and preparing students for examinations.

Strong understanding of assessment, essay writing and examination technique.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Ability to differentiate teaching and support students with varying abilities.

Commitment to high expectations and positive student outcomes.

Legal ability to work within the UK.
