A well-regarded secondary school in Luton, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, is seeking a passionate Female PE Teacher to join its successful Physical Education department from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher or an experienced teacher to become part of a supportive school that values high-quality teaching, student wellbeing and participation in sport.
You will join a collaborative department committed to delivering an engaging curriculum that encourages students to develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
Teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with the opportunity to teach KS5 where appropriate).
Plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical PE lessons that promote participation, skill development and healthy lifestyles.
Inspire students to achieve their full potential across a broad range of sports and physical activities.
Support students of all abilities through inclusive, differentiated teaching.
Prepare students for GCSE Physical Education where applicable.
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources.
Lead or support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and enrichment activities.
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school, including form tutor responsibilities.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Has a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related subject.
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for PE and school sport.
Has high expectations for student achievement, behaviour and participation.
Is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
Is reflective, organised and committed to ongoing professional development.
Works effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
