Science Teacher Role in a Faith-Based Secondary School

About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire students to develop a deep understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Students follow a broad and challenging curriculum that combines scientific knowledge with investigative practical work, encouraging them to think analytically and apply scientific principles to real-world issues. At Key Stage 5, you will have the opportunity to teach your specialist discipline, preparing students for A-Level examinations and supporting progression into higher education and STEM careers.
You will also contribute to the department's wider enrichment programme through STEM clubs, science fairs, educational visits, competitions, and outreach activities that promote enthusiasm for science beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM enrichment and extracurricular activities
Foster curiosity, resilience, and scientific enquiry

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science in a specialist discipline
Experience contributing to STEM enrichment activities
Ability to inspire students of all abilities through practical science
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
