Science Teaching Role in an Academy

About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and support strong academic outcomes.
Students will study Biology, Chemistry, and Physics topics, developing practical skills alongside theoretical understanding and exam technique.
You will prepare students for GCSE Science and potentially A-Level Science, depending on experience and departmental needs.
You will work within a collaborative department committed to raising attainment and improving outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Deliver engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Support students with practical investigations and experiments
Prepare students for GCSE examinations
Assess student progress and provide clear feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support intervention and revision programmes
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Strong classroom management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching KS5 Science
Experience working in an Academy or inclusive school setting
Ability to support exam intervention and revision sessions
Strong track record of improving student outcomes
