A forward-thinking and well-established Good-rated secondary school in Luton is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their thriving department for an immediate or January start. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity suitable for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to develop within a supportive and professionally led environment.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for delivering Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to contribute to GCSE coursework delivery and assessment.
  • The department offers a broad DT curriculum including areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics and Engineering.
  • Lessons are well structured and supported by shared department planning, allowing you to inject your own creativity while maintaining curricular consistency.
  • The role includes:
  • Planning and delivering practical and theory-based DT lessons
  • Supporting students with controlled assessment and practical projects
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and practical safety
  • Contributing to enrichment such as STEM projects, design competitions and coursework showcases
  • Working closely with a skilled DT Technician to ensure smooth lesson delivery
