Art Teaching Role in a Studio School
A creative and innovative Studio School in Luton is seeking to appoint a talented Art Teacher to join its successful Creative Arts department from September. About the Role
You will teach Art across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that inspire creativity, experimentation, and independent thinking.
Students will explore a broad range of disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and contemporary creative practices. You will support learners in developing strong practical skills while encouraging critical analysis and artistic reflection.
The successful candidate will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art qualifications, guiding them through portfolio development, coursework projects, and exhibition work.
You will also contribute to creative partnerships, industry-linked projects, and enrichment opportunities that enhance students' understanding of careers within the creative sector.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Art across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art qualifications
Support portfolio development and exhibition projects
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and creative project development
Organise visits, exhibitions, and enrichment activities
Promote artistic achievement and creativity across the school

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Art at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Art and Design
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Art
Experience supporting portfolio development and exhibitions
Knowledge of digital art and contemporary creative practices
Ability to contribute to industry-linked creative projects
