A successful primary in Wandsworth is seeking an experienced Year 5 Teacher to take up post from January 2026. The Year 5 Teacher will plan and deliver sequenced units that develop pupils’ critical thinking, writing stamina and mathematical reasoning. This role includes leading booster groups, delivering targeted interventions and contributing to whole-school curriculum refinement. Induction and pre-start planning will be provided ahead of January 2026 so the Year 5 Teacher can begin term-ready.

The Year 5 Teacher will use assessment to set precise next steps, design meaningful learning tasks and support transition to upper KS2 expectations. The appointed Year 5 Teacher will work with phase leaders and teaching assistants to secure excellent outcomes across the Wandsworth school.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach ambitious Year 5 lessons that deepen subject knowledge and application.
  • Lead targeted small-group tuition and evaluate impact to adapt provision.
  • Contribute to moderation, curriculum planning and cross-curricular projects across Wandsworth.
  • Communicate progress to parents, support enrichment activities and prepare pupils for Year 6.
  • Maintain accurate records of attainment and contribute to phase development.
Person specification
  • Qualified teacher with proven upper-KS2 experience and evidence of Year 5 impact.
  • Strong planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills; collaborative and data-aware.
  • Available to begin January 2026 and to attend induction in Wandsworth before January 2026.
