Are you a creative and results-focused Year 5 Teacher seeking a role from January 2026? Do you want to join a Hackney primary that combines high expectations with excellent pastoral support? Wayman Education is recruiting an experienced Year 5 Teacher for a dynamic school in Hackney. The Year 5 Teacher will plan and teach well-sequenced units across English and maths, lead targeted interventions, and contribute to whole-school curriculum development. This Year 5 Teacher post starts January 2026, with induction and handover scheduled before January 2026 so the new Year 5 Teacher can begin term-ready.

About the role:

  • The Year 5 Teacher will design lessons that deepen pupils’ conceptual understanding, lead guided-reading and reasoning sessions, and run booster programmes that accelerate progress.
  • The Year 5 Teacher will use assessment data to prioritise interventions and to demonstrate impact to senior leaders.
  • Based in Hackney, the Year 5 Teacher will be part of a collaborative phase that shares resources, moderates standards and supports professional growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Year 5 lessons with clear progression and effective differentiation.
  • Plan and implement targeted small-group teaching, tracking outcomes and adapting provision.
  • Lead aspects of year-group planning and contribute to moderation across the school.
  • Communicate progress and next steps to parents and colleagues in Hackney.
  • Support enrichment and transition activities to prepare pupils for UKS2 challenges.

Person specification:

  • Qualified teacher with successful Year 5/KS2 experience and a record of improving outcomes.
  • Strong subject knowledge, assessment literacy and confident behaviour management.
  • Collaborative, reflective and able to start January 2026 in Hackney.
