A forward-looking primary school in Lewisham is seeking a confident and creative Year 4 Teacher to start January 2026. The Year 4 Teacher will teach well-planned sequences across English, mathematics and foundation subjects, use assessment to set ambitious next steps and run targeted small-group support. The Year 4 Teacher will be part of a collaborative phase team and will take part in induction and planning meetings before January 2026 to ensure a strong spring-term start in January 2026.

This role is ideal for a Year 4 Teacher who enjoys designing stimulating curriculum units, encouraging reasoning and independence, and who is committed to reflective practice and professional growth in Lewisham.

Responsibilities
  • Plan sequenced Year 4 lessons that develop conceptual understanding and application.
  • Use assessment data to identify priorities and to design effective, targeted small-group work.
  • Work with teaching assistants to scaffold learning and to meet pupils’ diverse needs.
  • Contribute to phase moderation, curriculum development and whole-school enrichment projects across Lewisham.
  • Maintain clear home–school communication and engage parents in pupils’ progress.
