About the role
The Year 2 Teacher will plan differentiated lessons, lead phonics and guided-reading sessions, run targeted group work and maintain accurate assessment records. The Year 2 Teacher will work closely with the EYFS and KS1 team to ensure continuity of provision and will support parents through termly updates and learning conversations.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Year 2 lessons that prioritise phonics progression and early reading skills.
- Use daily assessment to identify gaps and run timely small-group interventions that accelerate progress.
- Work collaboratively with support staff to scaffold activities and monitor attainment across the cohort.
- Communicate progress and next steps to parents and engage them in home-learning strategies in Lambeth.
- Contribute to whole-school events, safeguarding and pastoral systems.
