A high-achieving and welcoming primary school in Ealing is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant to join its learning support team. This full-time, term-time-only position involves providing high-quality classroom assistance and small-group academic support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The post is well-suited for an experienced teaching assistant or a motivated graduate looking to gain comprehensive classroom experience prior to undertaking teacher training. You will collaborate closely with class teachers to ensure all pupils, including those with additional needs, access an inspiring and balanced curriculum.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Classroom Delivery: Assist class teachers with lesson management, group work, and the preparation of creative learning materials across core subjects.
- Targeted Interventions: Lead structured small-group sessions in phonics, guided reading, and early mathematics to raise pupil confidence and attainment.
- Special Educational Needs (SEN): Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEN or EAL, working alongside the SENCO to implement individual learning plans.
- Pastoral & Behavioral Support: Encourage positive social interactions, nurture emotional well-being, and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications & Skills: GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a clear Enhanced DBS check.
