A prominent secondary school in Ealing, West London, which holds an Outstanding Ofsted rating and is part of a successful local trust, is seeking an experienced Teacher of English to join its high-achieving Humanities and Arts faculty on a Permanent, Full-Time basis, starting January 2026.

Compensation & Contract

  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Salary: Paid on the Inner/Outer London Teachers' Pay Scales (MPS/UPS), commensurate with experience.

The Role

The successful Teacher of English will teach an ambitious curriculum across Key Stages 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level). The Teacher of English will benefit from exceptional professional development and career progression opportunities within the growing organisation. This role requires the Teacher of English to motivate and enthuse students across the entire ability range, fostering strong literacy and analytical skills. The Teacher of English will use the school’s VLE ('Copia') for curriculum access and to share materials with students and parents.

Requirements

  • A good degree in English and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Ability to teach English Language and Literature to Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum and recent curriculum/learning developments.
  • We seek a Teacher of English who is reflective, driven towards self-improvement, and committed to the school's ethos.
  • The ideal Teacher of English will have an understanding of the processes required to assess, record, and report students' learning effectively.
