The Role

Provide strategic leadership for the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all Key Stages.

Oversee the design and implementation of a rigorous, engaging curriculum for KS3, GCSE, and A-Level.

Mentor and support departmental staff, conducting observations and facilitating professional development.

Analyze student data to track progress and implement effective intervention strategies.

Lead the department's fieldwork program, ensuring students have access to high-quality learning outside the classroom.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of teaching Geography at GCSE and A-Level.

A degree in Geography or a closely related discipline.

Previous experience in a leadership role (e.g., Lead Practitioner, Second in Department) is highly desirable.

A visionary approach to Geography education, with a passion for sustainability and social justice.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to motivate a team to achieve excellence.
