Are you a reflective and strategic SENCO seeking a leadership opportunity from January 2026? A high-performing Hammersmith & Fulham primary is recruiting a SENCO to lead inclusion, strengthen provision and embed evidence-informed practice with effect from January 2026. The SENCO will complete pre-start planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and take responsibility for the SEND strategy from January 2026.

The SENCO will be a pivotal member of the school leadership team, driving whole-school SEND strategy, overseeing EHCP processes and supporting teachers to provide high quality SENCO-informed differentiation. The SENCO will lead reviews, coordinate multi-agency work and mentor support staff. From January 2026 the SENCO will be expected to analyse progress data, set achievement milestones and report to governors on SEND outcomes.

SENCO Requirements
  • National SENCO award (or evidence of working towards) and QTS. The SENCO must be able to lead statutory assessments and EHCP reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience in primary settings as the SENCO.
  • Availability for planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to fulfil the SENCO role from January 2026.
SENCO Responsibilities
  • Coordinate identification, assessment and provision for pupils with SEND as the SENCO.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, monitor interventions and evaluate impact as the SENCO.
  • Lead staff training, support for TAs and parent engagement as the SENCO.
  • Work with external partners and ensure compliance with statutory processes as the SENCO.
