A thriving Secondary School in the London Borough of Haringey is seeking a dedicated and organised Science Technician to support its successful Science department on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent practical skills who enjoys working in a laboratory environment and supporting high-quality science education.
The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to ensure practical lessons are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. You will prepare equipment, chemicals and materials for Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5. You will ensure laboratories remain organised, clean and fully stocked while maintaining all equipment and carrying out regular safety checks.
Working closely with the Head of Science and teaching staff, you will assist with practical demonstrations, maintain accurate inventories, order equipment and consumables and ensure all practical activities comply with current health and safety legislation. The role also includes preparing specialist apparatus, disposing of laboratory waste safely, maintaining COSHH records, supporting science clubs and enrichment activities and contributing to the smooth running of the department throughout the academic year.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong practical abilities and a proactive approach to supporting both staff and students.
