Are you a practical, organised person with an interest in Science? An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Camden is looking to add a Science Technician to its department from October.

The technician will provide the practical support needed to keep lessons running smoothly, working alongside teachers across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. From preparing experiments to keeping equipment in good working order, you’ll have an important role in the day-to-day running of the department.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Preparing practicals, demonstrations and experiments

  • Organising equipment and resources ahead of lessons

  • Supporting practical teaching across KS3 and KS4

  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and workspaces

  • Managing stock levels and ordering consumables

  • Preparing, storing and handling chemicals safely

  • Carrying out routine checks and reporting any faults

  • Ensuring laboratories meet the required health and safety standards

What are we looking for?

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a Science Technician, laboratory or scientific environment, although candidates with strong relevant practical experience will also be considered.

The most important qualities are reliability, attention to detail and the ability to stay organised when working to tight deadlines. You should also be comfortable working independently and as part of a wider department.
