October 2026 | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 35–37 hours per week | Temporary – 1–2 Terms

A busy secondary school in Haringey is seeking a Science Technician to support its science department from October.

You’ll play an important role behind the scenes, making sure practical lessons are properly prepared and that staff have the equipment and materials they need.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare practical equipment, chemicals and materials.

  • Set up experiments and demonstrations before lessons.

  • Clear away and clean equipment after practical sessions.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and monitor stock.

  • Assist with ordering and organising science resources.

  • Support teachers during practical lessons where needed.

  • Work in line with COSHH and school health and safety procedures.

What We Need

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment.

  • A good understanding of practical science and laboratory equipment.

  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and COSHH.

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Able to work independently and manage a busy workload.

  • Reliable and comfortable working as part of a school department.

Experience working in a secondary school science department would be an advantage.

Working Hours

The role will generally follow school opening times, with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–4:30pm, and Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm.
