About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the school office, ensuring efficient administrative systems and processes are in place to support the smooth operation of the school.

Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will manage the administration team, coordinate admissions and attendance procedures, oversee pupil records, handle communications, and ensure that visitors, parents, and external agencies receive a professional and welcoming service.

This is a varied leadership role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operation of the school office

  • Supervise and support the administrative team

  • Oversee admissions, attendance, and pupil record management

  • Coordinate communication with parents, staff, governors, and external agencies

  • Maintain accurate school records and management information systems

  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and school policies

  • Organise meetings, events, and administrative processes

  • Support the senior leadership team with operational administration

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in an office management or senior administrative role

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school management systems

  • Ability to lead a team and manage competing priorities

  • Professional, approachable, and able to maintain confidentiality

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school or educational setting

  • Knowledge of SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom

  • Understanding of admissions, attendance, safeguarding, and GDPR

  • Experience supporting senior leaders and managing administrative staff
