Are you an experienced School Caretaker looking for a long-term opportunity where you'll be supported, valued, and given the chance to secure a permanent position? We're working with a group of welcoming primary schools in Fulham that are looking to appoint a Caretaker on a full-time, long-term agency contract. The role is expected to last around 6 months, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.

You'll be based at one primary school during term time, with occasional cover at nearby schools within the trust during the holidays—all within walking distance.

The Role

You'll play an important role in ensuring the school remains safe, well maintained, and ready for pupils and staff each day. Responsibilities include:

  • General maintenance and basic DIY
  • Routine health and safety checks
  • Supporting contractors and reporting maintenance issues
  • Maintaining the school buildings and grounds
  • Using technology to manage maintenance requests and complete compliance records
  • Assisting across nearby schools within the trust during holiday periods

Please note: This role does not involve opening or locking the school.

Contract & Hours

Location: Fulham
Contract: Full-time, long-term agency contract (initially around 6 months). A permanent contract may be offered to the right candidate.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Lunch: 30 or 60-minute unpaid break
Start Date: ASAP

About You

To be considered, you must have previous experience working within a school environment as a Caretaker, Site Manager, Premises Officer, or similar. You'll be practical, reliable, confident using technology, and happy working in an older Victorian school building that includes multiple staircases.
