A high-performing secondary school in Hackney is looking to appoint a dedicated HR Officer to join its support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised HR professional to join a thriving school with a strong reputation for staff development, collaboration, and academic excellence. Working closely with the HR Manager, School Business Manager, and Senior Leadership Team, you'll play an important role in delivering an efficient and people-focused HR service while supporting the school's commitment to attracting and retaining exceptional staff.

The Role

As HR Officer, you'll support the day-to-day delivery of the school's HR function, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and employee-focused. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating recruitment and safer recruitment processes
  • Preparing contracts, offer letters, and onboarding documentation
  • Maintaining HR systems and accurate personnel records
  • Supporting employee relations, absence management, and HR casework
  • Assisting with payroll changes and contract amendments
  • Monitoring compliance with employment legislation and safeguarding requirements
  • Supporting staff wellbeing initiatives and HR projects
  • Responding to HR queries from employees and managers

The Successful Candidate
