A high-performing 11–18 secondary school in Hackney is looking to appoint an experienced HR Manager to join its senior support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the school's HR function within a thriving and ambitious environment. Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in shaping workforce strategy, supporting staff wellbeing, and ensuring the school continues to attract and retain exceptional talent.

The Role

As HR Manager, you'll lead all aspects of Human Resources, providing both strategic guidance and operational support across the school. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading recruitment and safer recruitment processes
  • Managing employee relations, absence management, disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters
  • Developing HR policies and ensuring employment law compliance
  • Overseeing contracts, HR systems, and personnel records
  • Supporting workforce planning and organisational development
  • Promoting staff wellbeing and engagement initiatives
  • Advising senior leaders on complex HR matters
