We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and proactive EYFS Teaching Support professional to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bexley starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during their early learning journey and enjoys working as part of a dedicated Early Years team. The school has a strong community ethos and places a high priority on early development, wellbeing and positive learning behaviours. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children feel confident, secure and eager to learn. Senior leadership is supportive and provides training, guidance and professional development opportunities.
As an EYFS Teaching Support, you will work closely with the class teacher and Early Years staff to support children's learning, development and wellbeing. You will assist with both structured activities and play-based learning, helping children develop key skills such as communication, social interaction and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Support children's learning and development across the EYFS curriculum
- Assist with the delivery of engaging play-based and structured activities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
- Support children's social, emotional and behavioural development
- Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
- Assist with observations, assessments and learning journals
- Promote positive behaviour routines and independence
- Work collaboratively with teachers and Early Years staff
- Support children during transitions, playtimes and daily routines
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers when required
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
- Have experience working with young children in an EYFS setting
- Be nurturing, patient and enthusiastic
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be proactive, reliable and adaptable
