The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 3–5 across Nursery and Reception, working closely with class teachers and the EYFS lead. Responsibilities include facilitating play-based learning, assisting with structured activities, and supporting individual and small-group interventions.
- Support delivery of EYFS curriculum, combining play-based and structured learning
- Provide targeted one-to-one or small group support for children with SEN or EAL needs
- Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and creative learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour, self-regulation, and social interaction
- Support classroom routines, transitions, snack times, and outdoor play
- Observe, assess, and document pupils’ progress in line with EYFS standards
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, external specialists, and parents
- Maintain safeguarding, health, and safety standards
- Support emotional wellbeing and social development for all pupils
