A dynamic and ambitious secondary school near Tower Bridge Station is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join its thriving Technology department. About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5 where applicable). You will teach a broad and engaging curriculum, which may include areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering or Food Technology, depending on your specialism.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Design & Technology lessons aligned with national curriculum and GCSE specifications
- Develop students’ practical skills, technical knowledge and understanding of the design process
- Prepare pupils for GCSE coursework and examinations, ensuring strong progress and attainment
- Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Assess, track and report on student progress effectively
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement
- Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge in at least one specialist area within DT
- Practical expertise and confidence in managing workshop-based learning
- Excellent organisational and classroom management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
- Legal right to work in the UK
