About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5 where applicable). You will teach a broad and engaging curriculum, which may include areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering or Food Technology, depending on your specialism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Design & Technology lessons aligned with national curriculum and GCSE specifications
  • Develop students’ practical skills, technical knowledge and understanding of the design process
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE coursework and examinations, ensuring strong progress and attainment
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment in line with health and safety regulations
  • Assess, track and report on student progress effectively
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one specialist area within DT
  • Practical expertise and confidence in managing workshop-based learning
  • Excellent organisational and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Legal right to work in the UK
