We are seeking an inspirational, strategically minded, and committed Lead Computer Science Teacher to drive the subject's development at a successful secondary academy in the Ealing area of Inner West London. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January 2026.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding Computer Science specialist ready to take on the leadership element of the subject. This role involves overseeing the curriculum, teaching standards, and academic progress in Computer Science from Year 7 through to A-Level. You will be responsible for developing a robust, engaging curriculum that covers theory, programming, and computational thinking, ensuring excellent student outcomes.

This leadership role comes with a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment appropriate for a subject coordination lead. To attract the best talent, we also offer a Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 per annum. This generous package recognizes both the leadership duties and the market demand for outstanding Computer Science specialists.

We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • A proven track record as an excellent Computer Science Teacher with experience teaching programming and theory to Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
  • Experience in curriculum development or subject coordination is essential.
  • A clear vision for maximizing student engagement and outcomes in Computer Science.
  • The ability to contribute positively to the academic life of the school.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Teachers. The base salary will be paid according to experience within the statutory Inner London Pay Scale (The Inner London Main Pay Range minimum is approximately £40,317 as of September 2025).
  • A Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment (The specific amount will be confirmed based on the final responsibility offered, typically falling within the TLR 2 band, ranging from approximately £3,527 to £8,611 per annum for 2025/2026).
  • A fixed Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 per annum.
  • Excellent, structured leadership development and clear pathways for career progression.
