A vibrant secondary school in Westminster is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work specifically with students who require additional support to manage their emotions and conduct within the classroom. The Role
- 1-to-1 Mentoring: Deliver bespoke mentoring sessions to students at risk of exclusion, helping them develop coping mechanisms and conflict-resolution skills.
- Classroom Integration: Support students within the classroom to stay on task, acting as a de-escalator during moments of crisis.
- Restorative Justice: Facilitate restorative conversations between students and staff to repair relationships and promote a positive school culture.
- Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed logs of student behavior and emotional wellbeing, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
The Candidate
- Experience: Backgrounds in Youth Work, Sports Coaching, Psychology, or Military/Police service are highly valued. Previous experience with SEMH or ASD is a plus.
- Resilience: The ability to remain calm, objective, and professional when faced with challenging behavior or verbal aggression.
- Communication: A natural ability to build rapport with "hard-to-reach" teenagers while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Commitment: A "never-give-up" attitude toward student progress—you understand that change doesn't happen overnight.
