A welcoming Primary School in the London Borough of Wandsworth is seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join its dedicated support team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for the arts who enjoys supporting creative learning and helping children develop confidence through practical activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to ensure the school's art curriculum is supported by outstanding resources, well-organised learning spaces and engaging creative opportunities. You will prepare a wide range of materials including paints, clay, textiles, printmaking equipment, drawing resources and mixed-media supplies ready for lessons across the school. You will maintain stock levels, organise storage areas, order specialist materials and ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained and safely stored.
The role includes preparing attractive displays of pupils' artwork throughout the school, supporting school exhibitions, assisting with after-school art clubs and helping to coordinate whole-school creative projects and themed curriculum events. You will also support teachers during practical activities where required and help maintain inspiring learning environments that celebrate pupils' achievements.
Working collaboratively with staff, you will ensure practical activities are delivered safely while encouraging children to experiment creatively and develop new artistic skills in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong practical abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting creative education.
