About the Role
You will teach Drama across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to explore performance, theatre, and creative expression.
Students will study a range of dramatic practitioners, theatrical styles, and performance techniques while developing acting, devising, directing, and evaluative skills. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Drama qualifications while encouraging participation in performances, productions, and creative projects.
The role offers opportunities to collaborate with external organisations, local theatres, and industry partners, helping students gain valuable insight into careers within the creative industries.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Drama across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Drama examinations
Direct and support school productions and showcases
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Organise theatre visits, workshops, and enrichment activities
Support students in developing confidence, communication, and performance skills

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Drama and Theatre Studies
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Drama
Experience directing productions and performances
Experience collaborating with arts organisations or industry partners
Ability to contribute to wider creative and enrichment programmes
