Design & Technology Teacher

A highly regarded Secondary Academy in Lincoln is seeking a professional and highly organised Design & Technology Teacher to join their experienced and well-resourced STEM team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages, specializing in product design, materials science, computer-aided design (CAD), and manufacturing frameworks. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of young designer showcases, engineering challenges, and material resource management.

You will also support communication with parents, students, and external technical bodies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and safely at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to balance classroom teaching with workshop safety logs and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment.

The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and highly mindful of workshop safety regulations and machine maintenance compliance. Good IT skills and data platform efficiency are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Previous teaching or relevant instructional experience in Design & Technology / Product Design up to GCSE and A-Level

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Good IT and data management skills (familiarity with CAD/CAM software is advantageous)

  • Professional and proactive approach to workshop health and safety compliance

  • Ability to work effectively in a busy practical environment
