Role: Reception Class Teacher
Location: Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract
Start Date: January 2027, for two terms
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
A community primary school in Leighton Buzzard is seeking a Reception Teacher for a two-term fixed-term appointment. The successful candidate will support children’s early development through purposeful play, structured activities and strong relationships with families.
The Role
Lead a Reception class in line with the EYFS framework.
Plan engaging adult-led activities and play-based learning opportunities.
Develop early language, phonics, number and social skills.
Observe children and use assessment to plan appropriate next steps.
Work with teaching assistants to create a safe and stimulating classroom.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Understands early-years development and EYFS expectations.
Can provide an inclusive environment for children with varied needs.
Uses observation and assessment effectively.
Is available to start in January 2027.
