Science Teaching Role in a Coeducational School
A successful Coeducational School in Leicester is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its thriving Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that values academic excellence, scientific enquiry, and high-quality teaching.
Science plays a central role within the curriculum, with students encouraged to develop curiosity, analytical thinking, and practical investigative skills across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to explore the world around them through scientific understanding.
The role will involve teaching all three sciences at KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach your specialist subject at A-Level depending on experience and departmental requirements.
You will support students in developing practical laboratory skills, critical thinking, data analysis, and scientific literacy while preparing them for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
Working as part of a collaborative department, you will contribute to curriculum development, STEM enrichment activities, and the continued success of the Science faculty.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM clubs, competitions, and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Experience working in a coeducational secondary school setting
Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities
Strong track record of examination success and pupil progress
