Core Responsibilities

• Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with significant opportunities for A-Level instruction for suitably qualified candidates.
• Textual Inquiry: Guiding students through the interrogation of complex texts, fostering the ability to identify nuanced themes, structural choices, and the socio-political contexts of authors.
• Written Eloquence: Systematically developing students' ability to write with clarity, flair, and purpose, whether for academic analysis, persuasive rhetoric, or creative storytelling.
• Data-Driven Progress: Utilising the academy’s robust assessment framework to provide granular feedback, ensuring students are equipped to meet the high demands of AQA, Edexcel, or Eduqas specifications.
• Oracy Leadership: Coordinating extra-curricular initiatives, such as debating societies or school magazines, to promote a vibrant culture of literacy and expression across the academy.

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who believes that the study of English is essential for developing informed, articulate, and empathetic citizens.
