We are seeking a passionate, creative and confident Drama ECT to join an Outstanding mainstream secondary school in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified Drama Teacher to begin their career within a supportive and professionally nurturing performing arts environment.
As a Drama Teacher, you will deliver engaging, practical and inspiring lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities for KS5 as your career progresses. The department benefits from a dedicated theatre space, studio facilities, lighting and sound equipment, and a strong culture of enrichment through productions, showcases and drama clubs.
The School is a high-achieving 11–18 co-educational setting with exceptional behaviour, excellent pastoral care and a strong commitment to the arts. ECTs receive weekly mentoring, reduced timetable allocation, structured CPD and continuous professional support. Staff wellbeing and collaborative practice are central to the school’s ethos.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in Drama, Performing Arts or related discipline
- PGCE with QTS
- Training to teach Drama to KS3/4
- Strong understanding of performance, devising and script work
- Enthusiasm for extracurricular drama and whole-school arts participation
Salary: This Drama ECT role will be paid to scale in line with MPS1.
