Job Overview
Science plays a prominent role in this school’s academic and co-curricular identity. The successful applicant will deliver practical and theoretical Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined & Separate Science), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Biology, Chemistry, or Physics delivery.
Working closely with the STEM department, you will guide pupils through safe laboratory experiments, scientific reasoning, and exam preparation, while supporting co-curricular science clubs. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging practical and theoretical Science lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5
- Plan, resource, and execute safe laboratory experiments in full compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines
- Guide GCSE and A-Level pupils through required practical assessments, data analysis, and exam preparation
- Maintain laboratory spaces, scientific machinery, chemical inventories, and specialized equipment safely
- Assess, track, and report on student progress across practical laboratory work and written assessments
- Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development

Candidate Requirements

- An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
