We are currently seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate SENCO to join a well-regarded and forward-thinking secondary school in Slough. This is a full-time, permanent position starting January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate). About the Role
As SENCO, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the school’s SEND provision in line with statutory guidance
- Overseeing EHCPs, learning plans and personalised support packages
- Coordinating interventions and monitoring student progress
- Supporting, advising and training teachers on differentiation and inclusive practice
- Line managing Teaching Assistants and support staff
- Working closely with parents, carers, external professionals and leadership teams
- Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding policies
- Contributing to whole-school strategy, pastoral systems and improvement planning
This is a pivotal role in the school and requires a proactive, knowledgeable and highly organised individual.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified SENCO (NASENCO) or willingness to complete the qualification
- Extensive experience supporting pupils with SEND in a secondary setting
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies
- QTS (PGCE or equivalent)
- Legal right to work in the UK
Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS) + SEN Allowance depending on experience.
