About the Role
As the KS2 Subject Lead, you will have responsibility for leading, developing, and monitoring your subject across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will support teaching colleagues, ensure high-quality planning and delivery, and track pupil progress to ensure consistently high outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage your subject across KS2, providing guidance, resources, and training to teaching staff
- Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning, and assessment in your subject area
- Plan and implement curriculum improvements, ensuring alignment with whole-school priorities
- Support and coach colleagues to develop best practice and ensure consistency across the Key Stage
- Analyse pupil outcomes and use data to inform strategic planning
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives, meetings, and professional development activities
- Maintain effective communication with senior leadership, staff, and parents regarding subject priorities
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Significant experience teaching in Key Stage 2
- Proven leadership experience in a primary school, ideally as a subject lead
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and effective pedagogy
- Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Passionate about raising standards, mentoring colleagues, and enhancing pupil outcomes
- Confident in using data and evidence to drive school improvement
