You will teach students across KS3 and KS4, covering a balance of physical and human Geography. Students will explore topics including rivers, coasts, ecosystems, climate, population, urbanisation, development and economic activity.
The department places importance on students being able to apply geographical knowledge rather than simply recall information. You will therefore use case studies, data, maps and contemporary examples to encourage pupils to investigate geographical issues and form their own conclusions.
At GCSE, you will prepare students for examinations while developing their confidence with geographical skills, extended writing and data interpretation. Fieldwork and enquiry-based learning will also form an important part of the curriculum where appropriate.
You will monitor progress carefully and adapt your teaching to ensure that students receive the right level of challenge and support.
