You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 before specialising in Biology at Key Stage 4. The role will involve helping students understand biological concepts through a mixture of clear explanation, practical investigation, discussion and examination preparation.
At KS3, you will cover areas such as cells, ecosystems, reproduction, health and the environment. At KS4, you will teach GCSE Biology content and help students develop the analytical and scientific skills needed to succeed in their examinations.
Practical work will be an important part of the position, and the successful teacher should be confident organising and delivering investigations safely. You will also be expected to monitor student progress and work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Science Department.

Biology Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Biology or Biological Sciences Degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Secondary Science teaching experience
Strong Biology subject knowledge
Ability to teach KS3 Science
Ability to teach GCSE Biology
Experience with practical Science
Good classroom and behaviour management
Strong planning and assessment skills
Ability to engage students with different abilities
Commitment to safeguarding and student development
The salary for this Biology Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
