Role: Teacher of History – KS3–KS4

Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover

Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
A community secondary school in King's Lynn is seeking a History Teacher to provide maternity cover. The successful applicant will deliver engaging lessons, help pupils evaluate historical evidence and maintain continuity across the department during the cover period.
The Role
Teach History across KS3–KS4.
Deliver lessons covering key historical periods, events and interpretations.
Develop pupils’ source analysis, chronology and extended writing skills.
Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Follow departmental schemes of work and contribute to planning where appropriate.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has secure subject knowledge and an understanding of the History curriculum.
Can make historical content accessible and engaging.
Maintains consistent classroom expectations and positive relationships.
Is available to begin at short notice.
