Are you an experienced School Caretaker looking for a long-term opportunity with the chance to secure a permanent position? We're working with a welcoming primary school in Brent that is looking to appoint a Caretaker on a full-time, temporary-to-permanent basis. The Role
As Caretaker, you'll be responsible for ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the premises. Responsibilities include:
- Locking and securing the school each evening
- Carrying out general maintenance and basic DIY
- Completing routine health and safety checks
- Ensuring the buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well presented
- Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors where required
- Supporting the overall security and upkeep of the school site
Contract & Hours
Location: Brent
Contract: Full-time, temporary-to-permanent (initial 3-month agency contract). A permanent contract may be offered to the right candidate.
Hours: Monday to Friday: 4:00pm – 10:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Sunday: 8:30am – 11:30am and 4:30pm – 7:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
About You
To be considered, you must have previous experience working within a school environment as a Caretaker, Site Manager, Premises Officer, or similar. You'll be reliable, practical, and confident working independently, taking pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
