About the Role

You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and support excellent student progress.

The role includes both classroom teaching and practical laboratory work, helping students develop confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting students in achieving strong outcomes and progression to further education.

You will work collaboratively within a dynamic Science department committed to curriculum innovation and high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5

  • Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

  • Plan and supervise practical laboratory sessions

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations

  • Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments

  • Contribute to STEM enrichment and departmental initiatives

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Science

  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

  • Experience working in an academy or high-performing school setting

  • Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities
